THE INCLUSIVE SCHOOLS PROJECT -- ACTION RESEARCH
What is the Inclusive Secondary Schools Project? This 3-year project is funded by the KPMG Foundation and led by the Refugee Council and an advisory group of experts in the field of secondary education and refugee childrens’ issues. STAR is a partner in the project and our role is to involve young people in the development and implementation of the project.

>The overall aim of the project is to find out ways through which secondary schools can work with refugee parents and carers to improve the experience and attainment of refugee children and young people in school and then produce a tool kit to implement them.
>How does the project involve young people?
Part of the project involves talking to young refugees about their experiences in schools. Young people across the country will be consulted through surveys, focus groups and interviews.
>We aim to interview a total of 30 young people and to carry out one more in-depth focus group.
>We feel it will be more successful and empowering to also involve other young people as the interviewers and focus group moderators and this is where you can get involved.
