Help us mentor refugee kids!

LSE's STAR chapter is teaming up with the King's College STAR chapter on a weekly Wednesday volunteer outing. Join us starting this Wednesday, 23 November -- details below.

WHAT: Mentor and tutor child refugees and asylum-seekers in the community
WHEN: Wednesday, 23 November, 4:45 pm
WHERE: Katherine Low Settlement, near Clapham Junction
INTERESTED?: Plan on coming? Please post to the blog or e-mail us at Su.Soc.Action-For-Refugees@lse.ac.uk to let us know!

We'll be . . .
- meeting in front of the Old Theatre on campus at 4:45pm and catching up with our King's College colleagues at Waterloo station (a 5 minute bus ride from LSE) at 5:15pm. From there we'll take the train to Clapham Junction
- then, it's a 10 minute walk to the Katherine Low Settlement, a community centre where we will be working with children aged 4-13 years. The kids are all refugees or asylum-seekers, mostly from Somalia, Eritrea, Sub-Saharan Africa and Afghanistan
- The volunteering time is from about 5:45 - 7:30 pm

Yes people! Come join us! It's a worthy cause and the kids will be glad to have some company on a Wednesday afternoon. Please let us know either via-email or by posting a blog if you'd like to join this week's outing!
